  • Using our new Prayer Cards on the first Sunday during prayers of the people.

PERSON OF JESUS STUDY – The Person of Jesus study slowly introduces a Jesus so personal, so rich in love that we are captivated heart-first. This energetic, interactive study leads people to discover Jesus’ beauty for themselves. We will be studying The Passion. As we watch Jesus make his way to the cross our eyes are opened to His courage and steadfast love for His Father and for everyone around Him. As we see the familiar story with fresh eyes, our hearts are empowered to worship our Savior.  Please join us for this 11-week study.  We will meet in the library from 11:00 a.m. to noon on Sundays.  Questions?  Contact Maggie Snyder at This email address is being protected from spambots. In the last year, St. Peter’s has become “A Praying Church,” energizing many of us to a new and sustained prayerfulness.

Prayer moves us into the spiritual realm, which is full of unseen mystery…and conflict with “Satan and the spiritual forces of wickedness that rebel against God!”  We renounced them in Baptism and in prayer we confront them anew.

This Lent we will learn to be Aware and Prepared for the Unseen War.

Paul said, “we wrestle not against flesh and blood but against principalities and powers.”  Join us to discover what scripture says about these dark powers, Christ’s victory, and our power as combatants.

Each week will feature a brief lecture, followed by Q&A and discussion.  You will find it interesting and useful in our crazy world.

Join us Wednesday nights, February 21, 28, March 6, 13, & 20 at Trillium Farm, 18915 Lincoln Rd., Purcellville.  Potluck dinner starts at 6:30 p.m. SHARPthen discussion at 7 p.m.  You’ll be on the road by 8 p.m.  There will be activities available for children.

If you’d like to add reading to your Lenten discipline, I recommend four titles.  Each will add something unique to deepen your reflection and contribution to our discussions.  Pick one and read it weekly through Lent.  Since I have drawn a lot on Michael Heiser’s scholarship, his book Supernatural speaks most directly to the material we will cover.

 COMMUNITY NEWS

Discover how discipleship is changing lives in Loudoun County. Now accepting applications for the 2024-2025 Fellows Programs

Since 1999, the Fellows program has helped transform the lives of more than five thousand people and has been commended by pastors for the dynamic impact it has had on their church.

Do you desire a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ and other believers?

Do you want to experience the power of a transformed life?

Howard Hendricks, wrote “When a person makes a confession of faith and is never taken through a formal discipleship process, there is little hope of seeing genuine spiritual transformation.” The Fellows Program is designed to give you a foundation for ongoing spiritual growth. Gail Thompson, a Christian counselor and Fellows Program alumna, calls it “the single most effective resource I’ve experienced in my 34 years of ministry.”

Please prayerfully consider joining us for this exciting next step in your journey with Christ. Applications are now being accepted for Loudoun County.  https://www.cslewisinstitute.org/fellows-program/
